Future planning for Mandogalup area

The State Government has now released Improvement Plan 47 to progress comprehensive planning for the Mandogalup area.

Improvement Plan 47 came into effect on 12 April 2019 following publication of a notice in the Government Gazette. The Improvement Plan provides for the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC) to prepare an Improvement Scheme over an area of land in Mandogalup.

The Department is currently progressing the preparation of the Mandogalup Improvement Scheme on behalf of the WAPC.  The Improvement Scheme will be informed by background and technical investigations and the consideration of a range of development scenarios (rural, urban and industrial, or a combination). The work program and the finalisation of the Improvement Scheme is anticipated to take approximately 18-24 months.

Taylor Burrell Barnett has been appointed as the lead of the multi-disciplinary project team to progress the planning framework for Improvement Plan 47 - Mandogalup area, by means of an Improvement Scheme. The project team is made up of various consultants comprising environmental, engineering, traffic, bushfire, landscape and acoustic experts.

Stakeholder engagement with landowners, local government, industry and the community is a crucial part of this project and is due to commence in the coming months to establish the vision, values, and priorities for the project area and to help inform the land use scenarios for the site.
