Integrated planning and management for WA’s coastal zone and CoastWA grants programs.
The Western Australian coast is a unique and diverse place extending over 20,000 kilometres. The WA coast is a dynamic risk prone environment and our most contested space. There are pressures on the coastal zone for land use and development for a variety of purposes including a mix of recreational, residential, industrial and commercial uses. Planning for the coastal zone is about balancing these often conflicting uses.
The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
