Future of Fremantle committees seek community representatives
Monday 9 August 2021
The State Government is seeking community representatives to help plan for the future of Fremantle.
One community representative is being sought to sit on the Future of Fremantle Planning Committee which will examine future development options for the North Quay and surrounding areas, as well as continuing to develop a new vision for a Victoria Quay Waterfront Precinct.
It will also develop an employment strategy to maintain local jobs when the container terminals are relocated, and explore new economic opportunities and developments for the coastal city.
The 12-member committee, comprising representatives of State Government agencies, Fremantle Ports, local government and industry is seeking a suitably qualified person to represent the local community.
Expressions of interest are also being sought for community representatives on the Future of Fremantle Reference Group.
This group will support the Future of Fremantle Planning Committee on key issues relating to the Inner Harbour, such as heritage and transport, drawing on local perspectives of members with a long-standing interest, knowledge and involvement in the area.
Applicants are asked to provide a one-page cover letter and current CV demonstrating their capacity to represent the Fremantle community on the committee or reference group by visiting https://www.dplh.wa.gov.au/future-fremantle by Friday August 20, 2021.
