Peter’s vision and drive have helped to transform a derelict whaling station into an award-winning heritage tourism icon. The judges commended Peter’s dedication to the project which has seen over two million visitors explore Albany’s Historic Whaling Station at Discovery Bay.
On Australia Day, Peter was awarded an Order of Australia Medal for the role he has played in interpreting Albany’s heritage and for his significant contribution to the tourism sector in the Great Southern region.
