Considerations for the Dunsborough Planning Investigation Area

On this page

Overview

Key considerations for the Dunsborough Planning Investigation Area include, but are not limited to:

  • planning investigation area extent definition (generally land to the south-east of Dunsborough). The area has not been spatially defined
  • provision of land for employment-generating activities
  • land assembly (possible diversity of owners)
  • natural character of the bushland, rural and coastal environment, in keeping with the vision for the Leeuwin-Naturaliste sub-region and City of Busselton
  • actual development demand
  • bushfire risk.

Update

  • A draft Planning Investigation Report (PIA) Report is being prepared by the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage on behalf of the Western Australian Planning Commission (WAPC), in conjunction with the City of Busselton and with advice from other State agencies
  • the PIA Report will be subject to public consultation
  • the Department commissioned a Bushfire Hazard Level Assessment for the area, which has now been completed
  • an Environmental Study has been prepared by the City of Busselton.
