Access to departmental information on Aboriginal sites, other heritage places and Aboriginal Heritage Surveys is available via the Aboriginal Heritage Inquiry System (AHIS) or by download.
The department can arrange access to the contents of specific heritage files and reports upon request, provided they do not contain confidential information, or where appropriate permissions have been provided. To access site files and heritage survey reports electronically please complete a site file access request form.
Contact the department for appointments to view hardcopy files and reports.
If you wish to provide information about a possible Aboriginal site, including additional information to the AHIS or hardcopy files, refer to Aboriginal site preservation.
If you are undertaking any activity on a piece of land it is recommended that you refer to the land use overview.
The Government of Western Australia acknowledges the traditional custodians throughout Western Australia and their continuing connection to the land, waters and community. We pay our respects to all members of the Aboriginal communities and their cultures; and to Elders both past and present.
Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are advised that this site may contain images of people who are deceased.
