This document lists all places currently entered in the state register of heritage places as well as places that are subject to a conservation order.

P01831 Windsor Theatre, Nedlands – proposed registration

Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

The draft register entry and statement of significance for the place can be viewed on inHerit.

The Heritage Council invites submissions on the proposal pursuant to the Act and (where relevant) section 24MD of the NTA, which should be forwarded to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage no later than 19 August 2020. Submissions can be made to info@dplh.wa.gov.au or Locked Bag 2506, Perth WA 6001.

P17171 Lake Clifton, Peel Region – proposed registration

Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2.  the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

The Heritage Council invites submissions on the proposal pursuant to the Act and (where relevant) section 24MD of the NTA, which should be forwarded to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage no later than Tuesday 31 December 2019. Submissions can be made to info@dplh.wa.gov.au or Locked Bag 2506, Perth WA 6001.

Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

The Heritage Council invites submissions on the proposal pursuant to the Act and (where relevant) section 24MD of the NTA, which should be forwarded to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage no later than Friday 7 February 2020. P3211 Robb Jetty (ruin) and Abattoir Chimney (fmr), Coogee – proposed registration

Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

The draft register entry and statement of significance for the place can be viewed on inHerit. Please note that the proposal includes an increase to the land description registered in 1996.

The Heritage Council invites submissions on the proposal pursuant to the Act and (where relevant) section 24MD of the NTA, which should be forwarded to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage no later than Friday 6 March 2020. Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

Please note that the proposal includes a decrease to the land description registered in 1996.

Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

Charcoal Burner Site, Mount Observation at Yarra Road, Mount Observation, comprising that Portion of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 6754 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2079 Folio 140 as shown on HC Curtilage Map P25664-0.

Pursuant to section 40 of the Heritage Act 2018, the Heritage Council has made the following recommendation to the Minister for Heritage on 8 May 2020.

  • the place listed above is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38(1) of the Heritage Act 2018
  • the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry
  • the place should be entered in the State Register of Heritage Places.

Law Offices (fmr), Albany at 133-135 York St, and comprising Lot 50 on Diagram 97527 being the whole of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2161 Folio 128.

Pursuant to section 40 of the Heritage Act 2018, the Heritage Council has made the following recommendation to the Minister for Heritage on 12 June 2020.

  1. the place listed above is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38(1) of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. the place should be entered in the State Register of Heritage Places.

P10644 Memorial House and Coronation Rose Garden, Bruce Rock

Memorial House and Coronation Rose Garden, Bruce Rock at Dunstal Street, Bruce Rock, comprising portion of Reserve 17729 comprising portion of Lot 281 on Deposited Plan 142960 being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3010 Folio 987 as defined in HC Curtilage Map P10644-1.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 05 June 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 23 April 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P2112 St Georges Terrace Commercial Group

St Georges Terrace Commercial Group at St Georges Terrace, Perth, comprising Portion of Lot 201 on Deposited Plan 57173 being part of the land in Certificate of Title Volume 2695 Folio 150 as shown on Heritage Council Curtilage Map P2112-1

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 15 04 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

 

P2915 Guildford Historic Town

P2915 Guildford Historic Town bounded by the Swan River to the north and west, the Helena River to the south and southeast, with the northeast corner following a line north-south from the cadastral boundary between Lot 13949 P027474 and Lot 302 P047452 in the north through to the south west corner of Lot 801 P060796, excluding a small portion of Rail Freight Corridor and Great Eastern Highway Road Reserve as shown coloured grey on Deposited Plan 414215.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 2 July 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s. 42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P11923 Subiaco Oval

Subiaco Oval at Roberts Road, Subiaco and comprising Reserve 41874 and being all that land contained in Crown Land Title Volume 3170 Folio 803 and shown as Lot 501 on Deposited Plan 415244.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 14 August 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P9102 Quarry Amphitheatre, City Beach

Quarry Amphitheatre, City Beach at 145 Oceanic Drive, City Beach and comprising Lot 714 on Diagram 90079 being the whole of the land in Certificate of Title Volume 2138 Folio 22

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 20 August 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

Roman Catholic Church Group, Toodyay at 34 Stirling Terrace, Toodyay and comprising Portion of Lots 44, 45 and 46 on Deposited Plan 223152 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 1729 Folio 310
The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 26 August 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P59048 Lock Hospital (fmr) & Burial Ground, Port Hedland

Lock Hospital (fmr) & Burial Ground, Port Hedland at 34 Sutherland Street, Port Hedland and comprising Reserve 17014 being Lot 841 on Deposited Plan 171785 and being the whole of the land in Crown Land Title Volume 3148 Folio 849; together as shown on Heritage Council Curtilage Map P5948-A.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 4 September 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P1729 Rockbridge Upper Warren

Rockbridge Upper Warren at 222 Rockbridge Road, Upper Warren and comprising Portion of Lot 4 on Diagram 14233 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2003 Folio 489.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 13 October 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

 

P3365 Cape Person K Battery Complex

Cape Peron K Battery Complex at Point Peron Road, Rockingham and comprising Reserve 48968 being Portion of Lot 301 on Deposited Plan 48616 and being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume 3140 Folio 959; Part of Marine Reserve 5; Reserve 31488 being Lot 2238 on Deposited Plan 48616 and being the whole of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3000 Folio 611.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 13 October 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 13 October 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 27 November 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P1985 St George’s Hall Portico and Façade, Perth

St George’s Hall Portico and Façade, Perth at 500 Hay Street, Perth and comprising Part of Reserve 39908 being portion of Lot 500 on Deposited Plan 65049 and part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume 3157 Folio 84; Part of Reserve 39908 being Lot 502 on Deposited Plan 57040 and the whole of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume 3147 Folio 709; Lot 503 on Deposited Plan 57040 being the whole of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume 3147 Folio 710; and Portion of Hay Street Road Reserve; together as shown on HCWA survey drawing 1985 prepared by Midland Survey Services.

On 26 November 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 3 February 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

Albany State School Group (fmr) at 114 Collie St, 117 Serpentine Rd & 259 York Street, Albany and comprising Reserve 33641 including Lot 500 on Deposited Plan 410018 being the whole of the land in Crown Land Title Volume 3168 Folio 85, and Lot 501 on Deposited Plan 410018 being the whole of the land in Crown Land Title Volume 3168 Folio 86. The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 13 October 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 15 April 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

Ministerial Direction to Amend the Land Description of a Place on the State Register of Heritage Places
P1989 Criterion Hotel

Criterion Hotel at 560 Hay Street, and 101 Murray Street, Perth, comprising part of Lot 9 on Diagram 42636 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2046 Folio 552 as shown on HCWA map P1989-0.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 44 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that the amendment to the land description of the Criterion Hotel to be Lot 300 as shown on Deposited Plan 410903 will have no impact on the cultural significance of the place.

On 21 October 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to amend the land description of the place in the State Register of Heritage Places accordingly pursuant to s.45 of the Heritage Act 2018.
