Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018 (Act), the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

  2.  the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

P5568 Godfrey House – proposed amendment of registration

The Heritage Council resolved:

  1. to update the name of the place to Princess Margaret Hospital for Children (fmr), Subiaco;
  2. that an amendment to the land description of P5568 Godfrey House, to include part of Reserve 53329 comprising portion of Lots 500 & 502 on Deposited Plan 419081 being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3172 Folios 41 & 43 together as defined in HC Curtilage Map P5568-1, warrants consideration in detail pursuant to s.44(1).

The Heritage Council resolved that the above place is of cultural heritage significance under the provisions of the Heritage of Western Australia Act 1990, and invited submissions on finalising registration on 6 January 2017.

Pursuant to section 40 of the Heritage Act 2018, the Heritage Council has made the following recommendation to the Minister for Heritage on 11 December 2020.

On 7 December 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

On 5 November 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

1. the place has cultural heritage significance; 

2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 4 November 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

Nedlands Tennis Club at cnr of Bruce Street and Gallop Road, Nedlands; Part of Reserve 1669 comprising portion of Lot 124 on Deposited Plan 222793 being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3145 Folio 508 and portion of Lot 125 on Deposited Plan 222793 being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3145 Folio 509 as is defined in HC Curtilage Map P3964-1.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 17 September 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P0075 Law Offices (fmr), Albany

Law Offices (fmr), Albany located at 135 York St, Albany, Lot 50 on Diagram 97527 being the whole of the land contained in Certificate of Title 2161 Folio 128.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 28 July 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P25664 Charcoal Burner Site, Mount Observation

Charcoal Burner Site, Mount Observation at Yarra Road, Mount Observation, comprising that Portion of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 6754 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2079 Folio 140 as shown on HC Curtilage Map P25664-0.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 30/06/2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P10644 Memorial House and Coronation Rose Garden, Bruce Rock

Memorial House and Coronation Rose Garden, Bruce Rock at Dunstal Street, Bruce Rock, comprising portion of Reserve 17729 comprising portion of Lot 281 on Deposited Plan 142960 being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3010 Folio 987 as defined in HC Curtilage Map P10644-1.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 05 June 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

On 23 April 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

On 15 April 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

On 15 April 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

On 3 February 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

The Beach House, Cottesloe at 7 Rosendo Street, Cottesloe and comprising Portion of Lot 1 on Deposited Plan 413382 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2967 Folio 265 as depicted in HCWA Curtilage Map P3453-0. 

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:  

the place has cultural heritage significance; and 

the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.  

On 16 December 2020, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018. 

P540 Railway Goods Shed & Footbridge, Collie

Railway Goods Shed & Footbridge, Collie at Reserve 47296, comprising Lot 2888 on Deposited Plan 37771 being the whole of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3131 Folio 636; and part of Reserve 47297 comprising a portion of Lot 2890 on Deposited Plan 37771 being part of the land contained in Crown Land Title Volume LR3131 Folio 638, as shown on HCWA map P540-0.

Ministerial Direction to Amend the Land Description of a Place on the State Register of Heritage Places
P1989 Criterion Hotel

Criterion Hotel at 560 Hay Street, and 101 Murray Street, Perth, comprising part of Lot 9 on Diagram 42636 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2046 Folio 552 as shown on HCWA map P1989-0.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 44 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that the amendment to the land description of the Criterion Hotel to be Lot 300 as shown on Deposited Plan 410903 will have no impact on the cultural significance of the place.

On 21 October 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to amend the land description of the place in the State Register of Heritage Places accordingly pursuant to s.45 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P2390 South Perth Police Station

South Perth Police Station, 1 Mends St, South Perth comprising Portion of Lot 688 on Deposited Plan 403809 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2963 Folio 868 as to the portion labelled ‘M’ on said Plan.


Pursuant to section 44 of the Heritage Act 2018, the amendment to reduce the land description for the abovementioned place to be portion of Lot 688 on Deposited Plan 403809 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 2963 Folio 868 and Lot 311 and portion of Common Property on draft Strata Plan 70243 together as shown on HC Map P2390-1 was approved by the Minister for Heritage on 1 September 2020, subject to the following conditions:


i. the approval of the Strata Plan subdivision and subsequent concurrent lodgement of the notification of the amended entry under s. 163(3), Strata Plan, and Deposited Plan at Landgate; and,


ii. the owner paying all costs associated with amending the land description, including drafting or re-drafting of plans and any processes relating to lodgement of documents at Landgate.

 

P46 Hawthorndene

Pursuant to section 44 of the Heritage Act 2018, the amendment to reduce the land description for the abovementioned place to be portion of Lots 24, 25 and 26 on Plan 190 being part of the land comprised in Certificates of Title Volume 1348 Folios 508, 509, and 510 respectively together as defined in HC Curtilage Map P46-1 was approved by the Minister for Heritage on 4 November 2020, subject to the following condition:

(a) the approval of the subdivision and subsequent lodgement of the relevant documents at Landgate.
