P868 Bristile Kilns (fmr), Belmont – proposed registration

Pursuant to section 40(1) of the Heritage Act 2018, the Heritage Council has resolved that:

  1. the place is of cultural heritage significance pursuant to s.38 of the Heritage Act 2018;
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry; and
  3. that consultation should be undertaken on the proposal to enter the place in the Register of Heritage Places and the content of the draft statement.

The Heritage Council invites submissions on the proposal, which should be forwarded to the Department of Planning, Lands and Heritage no later than 20 September 2019. Submissions can be made to info@dplh.wa.gov.au or Locked Bag 2506, Perth WA 6001.

P2915 Guildford Historic Town

P2915 Guildford Historic Town bounded by the Swan River to the north and west, the Helena River to the south and southeast, with the northeast corner following a line north-south from the cadastral boundary between Lot 13949 P027474 and Lot 302 P047452 in the north through to the south west corner of Lot 801 P060796, excluding a small portion of Rail Freight Corridor and Great Eastern Highway Road Reserve as shown coloured grey on Deposited Plan 414215.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 2 July 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s. 42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P11923 Subiaco Oval

Subiaco Oval at Roberts Road, Subiaco and comprising Reserve 41874 and being all that land contained in Crown Land Title Volume 3170 Folio 803 and shown as Lot 501 on Deposited Plan 415244.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 14 August 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P9102 Quarry Amphitheatre, City Beach

Quarry Amphitheatre, City Beach at 145 Oceanic Drive, City Beach and comprising Lot 714 on Diagram 90079 being the whole of the land in Certificate of Title Volume 2138 Folio 22

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 20 August 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P4125 Roman Catholic Church Group, Toodyay

Roman Catholic Church Group, Toodyay at 34 Stirling Terrace, Toodyay and comprising Portion of Lots 44, 45 and 46 on Deposited Plan 223152 being part of the land contained in Certificate of Title Volume 1729 Folio 310
The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry. 

On 26 August 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.

P59048 Lock Hospital (fmr) & Burial Ground, Port Hedland

Lock Hospital (fmr) & Burial Ground, Port Hedland at 34 Sutherland Street, Port Hedland and comprising Reserve 17014 being Lot 841 on Deposited Plan 171785 and being the whole of the land in Crown Land Title Volume 3148 Folio 849; together as shown on Heritage Council Curtilage Map P5948-A.

The Minister, having regard to the recommendation and advice of the Heritage Council given under section 40 of the Act in relation to the place, is satisfied that:

  1. the place has cultural heritage significance; and
  2. the place makes an important contribution to understanding the heritage of Western Australia as detailed in the proposed statement of significance in the draft register entry.

On 4 September 2019, the Minister directed the Heritage Council to enter the place in the State Register of Heritage Places pursuant to s.42 of the Heritage Act 2018.
