Heritage tourism is an emerging trend towards experience-based tourism for visitors who are looking for authentic experiences and wanting to connect with culture.

Join the Heritage Council of Western Australia and FACET (Forum Advocating Cultural and Eco-Tourism) for a half-day workshop that features award winning heritage projects and celebrates best practice heritage conservation, adaptation and reactivation, tourism and interpretation of our heritage sites and places.

The workshop will explore innovative ways to interpret and promote Western Australia's cultural heritage and includes examples of the positive economic and social impacts of sharing our heritage through stories.

Presenters include Heritage Perth’s Leigh Barrett, Gold Industry Group’s Rebecca Johnston, National Trust WA’s Julian Donaldson, Metropolitan Redevelopment Authority’s Sean Henriques and Kate Ferguson, creator and curator of Gwalia's Gold - its People and Places.

Author and broadcaster Richard Offen will MC the event.
